You may have seen Kristina's note about the Supervisors' meeting on
Tuesday, 20 April, to hear positions re TOT funding.  Parks and Open Space,
traditionally very aggressive in getting these funds, have already begun
building their case for an increased percentage of the TOT money, at the
expense of others, including the Arts.  Arts have always been given the
smallest part of the pie.  That should end!  Parks and space need to be
represented, but if we want to give Napa a meaningful "brand" along with an
indispensible contribution to our future, it will be in terms of the Arts,
not the Parks and Open Space group.

        As you know, these matters in Supervisors' Chambers are strongly
influenced by the presence of bodies and the comments expressed openly by
those bodies.  Through the groups which you started, you influence
significant numbers of young people, people who are actively interested in
the Arts and who have an important role to play in the future of Arts in
Napa.

        Please notify them of this meeting and urge them not only to attend
but also to speak, passionately if only briefly.  This is truly important.

DESTINATION COUNCIL REQUEST: Napa iPhone App Info!
Arts Council is working with the Destination Council to build cultural
tourism. David Turgeon, Chief Operating Officer, will be coming to our
meeting next week to give everyone an overview of what they are working on
and how we can all work collectively.
